With changes to their previous restrictive measures on travel, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has shared new guidelines and regulations which will come into effect on 20 December, which may affect travel plans for those who are travelling for gigs.
Under the changes made by HPA (IUL) 23-L/452/2020/5 on the 16th of December, for those who will be travelling to resorts for short-term work (less than 6 days), the HPA guideline states that:
A permit must be obtained through the Ministry of Tourism prior to travelling.
A PCR negative result should be presented from a test done 72 hours prior to travel.
Accommodation and food must be arranged separate from the resort’s resident staff which are in line with the respective guidelines of HPA.
Short-term workers travelling from one resort to the other are not required to undergo the mandatory quarantine and PCR test 72 hours prior to travel.
Short-term workers travelling to another resort after returning to the Male’ area are required to obtain a PCR negative result from a test done 72 hours prior to travel.
While it is no longer required for short-term workers travelling to resorts for less than 6 days to quarantine after a negative PCR test, long-term workers are required to:
A permit must be obtained through the Ministry of Tourism prior to travelling.
A PCR negative result should be presented from a test done 72 hours prior to travel.
Quarantine for 10 days.
Present a PCR negative result at the end of quarantine.
We appreciate the precautionary measures established by HPA in their effort to contain the virus and therefore remind you to please adhere to the guidelines provided by respective resorts and HPA to reduce the risk of #COVID19 transmission.
